Carl Crabtree is an Owner/Broker of ERA Coastal Properties, located in the town of Kitty Hawk, on the beautiful island community of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Carl's knowledge of the area began when his family moved here from Ohio and purchased an oceanfront motel complex in Nags Head in 1979. It remained family operated until it's recent sale in 2004. This experience provided Carl with an insight in the vacation rental market on the Outer Banks, which he still relies on today.

Carl has established himself as a leading sales agent on the beach by utilizing his thorough knowledge of the area, an accute understanding of the vacation rental market, and his unique ability to bring Sellers and Buyers together through seamless transactions, time and time again. A graduate of UNC-Wilmington, in 1996 Carl decided to return to Columbus, Ohio to accept a position as an executive at Bridgestone/Firestone. There he helped lead his district to receive the "Sales Team of the Year" award in 1999. After five years he returned to the Outer Banks to establish himself as a permanent resident. Just thought I'd tell you a little about myself so that you can have confidence, and know that I can serve you and your Outer Banks real estate needs. I am one of the few true Dixie natives of the Outer Banks. While I am pleased to serve you on the full span of the OBX, I do possess a unique knowledge of Roanoke Island.

My formal schooling / college education was expansive as I studied in both Minneapolis and Florida. My real life mentoring began at the age of thirteen in the restaurants, where I learned a work ethic and such skills as coordinating, multi-tasking, handling objections, and product negotiating.

An eighth generation native of the Outer Banks, Holli can trace her family history in this area back to the 1700's. Her roots in the community are legendary. Her great, great uncle, Frank Tate, was the infamous postmaster who wrote a letter to the Wright Brothers, thus inspiring their plans for making their first flight in Kitty Hawk. A native of Norfolk VA, I lived in Chesapeake for 22 years. In 1995, my husband Bob and I bought our vacation home on the Outer Banks and spent every spare moment at the beach. In 2002 we decided to pack up our belongings and move to the beach full time. I continued to commute to Chesapeake where I served as an assistant superintendent for the Chesapeake Public Schools. In 2004, after 34 years in education, I traded in my doctorate in educational administration for my real estate broker license.

I was born and raised in Greenville, SC so I am a southern girl at heart. I graduated from East Carolina University in 1997 and became a student for life in the school of hard knocks. At one point in my career, The College of the Albemarle, realized that I had learned enough to teach a one-semester class on child development and family relations. I continued my life long learning process by becoming a full time Nanny for a family. Then as a waitress, hostess, cashier, I polished my people skills and majored in negotiations and communications.

Having passed with flying colors, I decided to tackle the really hard stuff in real estate, beginning as receptionists for a property management company.

My boss, recognizing my abilities, moved me into direct client contact as a Vacation Reservationists. By the fall of 2003, I felt ready to step into the meat of the Real Estate industry and obtained my agents license. Since then I have worked with two different brokerages on the Outer Banks, all the while I continued honing my skills to better serve you.
